Frytanga Café is a testament to our family’s love for Colombian heritage. Our story begins with the journey of our grandmother, a resilient woman with a gift for crafting the perfect empanadas. Years ago, she began selling her empanadas to this very café. Every empanada carried her dream of selling them in her own store someday.
That dream is now a reality in the form of Frytanga Café, The café stands as a testament to her vision and her dedication to sharing authentic Colombian flavors with the community. Here, her empanadas and other cherished family recipes continue to bring satisfaction to every guest, just as they did years ago.
About Our Owners
Known for her nurturing spirit and dedication to family, Martha was a frontline worker and therapist at Phelps Hospital during COVID. She then decided to pursue her true passion. Martha mastered and innovated on traditional recipes, bringing a unique twist to traditional Colombian food.
Her journey from healthcare hero to culinary artist is a testament to her strength, resilience, and dedication to her family and community. Frytanga Café is a place where everyone is welcomed like family, and her delicious creations will prove it. Her heartfelt approach makes Frytanga Café a cherished gathering place in our community.
The guiding force behind Frytanga Café is none other than Jonathan Sanchez, or as some like to call him: Coach Jhonny. A respected figure in our local community & a dedicated Varsity coach at Ossining High School. Jhonny has a passion for nurturing young talent & emphasizing team spirit.
His love for community engagement extends beyond the soccer field to the heart of Frytanga Café. Jhonny has found a way to blend his two passions - the vibrant culinary heritage of his Colombian roots & his commitment to community service. Jhonny continues to give back to the community of Ossining with Frytanga Café.
Graciela (Chelita)
The legacy of Frytanga Café is rooted deeply in the dreams and dedication of Abuela Graciela. From the humble beginnings of selling her own empanadas to this very café before it became Frytanga Café, Graciela's dream was to share the rich culinary heritage of Colombia with her community.
Though Graciela sadly passed away in May of 2024, her spirit lives on through every dish served and every smile shared within our café. We honor her memory by continuing to bring her dream to life, ensuring that her vibrant legacy transcends. Frytanga Café is a testament to Graciela's enduring love for her Colombian roots and her dedication to family.

Our coffee beans are directly sourced from the finest farms in Colombia. We are dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality, most flavorful Colombian coffee while supporting local based farmers back home.
